Life goes by so quickly sometimes! It is already the close of August. The season of Autumn is just around the corner and school has begun, or will soon. Things are always changing, including IMPACT. And that's not a bad thing! As this next "school year" begins, get ready for some wonderful changes. As a group, we have been growing spiritually. In fact, in this last year it seems that God has grown us more than ever before. We have been challenged, humbled, enlightened, and strengthened. But there is still a lot of growing coming up. I can't wait! We are gearing up for a season of stretching, seeking, and serving. Don't miss out! If you have never been to IMPACT before, now is the time! We are looking forward to growing more in love with Christ and with His followers, including you. Holy Spirit, fill us.

Events at IMPACT!

Good afternoon everyone! What about this beautiful weather today, huh? Thank you Lord! There is so much going on in so many of our lives - God is moving and growing us... and preparing us for lives of service to Him. Pretty awesome :)

On another note, a few things that are going on this next month:

Barn Dance tomorrow night (April 1st) at 8pm - we'll learn some country dancin' moves, play pool and games, and just have some fun! Everyone is welcome! And you aren't required to dance ;)
Hiking?! Hopefully sometime in the next couple of weeks on a Saturday, we'll do some hiking probably up in the hills behind Creekside Farms. There's a cave back there and some cool trails.
Mexico Missions Trip! On Saturday, April 23rd, we will be leaving for Mexico for a week. There we will be building a home for a Mexican family in need and spreading the joy and love of Christ!

May our Lord Jesus Christ be worshiped and honored by us, His children! He is so good, so glorious, so above all we can comprehend...

The Valentine's Dinner is over!!! Thank you everyone so much for your involvement! We absolutely love being able to serve, minister, and spend time with our friends and family in Christ! What a blast! And thank you so much for giving! All the proceeds will go to great use in ministry and missions for the Kingdom of God! We look forward to seeing you next year! Another year with which to serve our God! :) It's official - we're doing the Valentine's Dinner again this year (on Sat. February 12th). So that means lots of planning and preparation! 'Tis the Season

Here we go a-caroling! This Thursday make sure you have your warm clothes on! We'll be meeting in the WalMart parking lot (by the old Hollywood video) and going from there to do some caroling. It's an encore from last year :) We visited 4 families who can't get out of the house just to spread some Christmas cheer, and I know they enjoyed it even more than we did. Also, this Friday is our Formal Dinner night starting at 6:30. We will be bringing food this year (we convinced the IMPACT Mom that we could help out), so don't forget to bring a veggie or potato dish and/or drinks! If you haven't signed up already and will be able to come, let me know! We're also doing an auction this year, so bring something you already own (don't buy anything) that we'll "auction" off :) We won't be having Thursday night IMPACT for the last two weeks in December, but make sure to join us for our New Year's Eve party! Come see what IMPACT is all about! Right now we are focusing on a study of other religions with the intent of being better equipped to share the good news of Jesus Christ to the world. So many believers, including quite a few of us, don't really know what other people believe or how to approach them based on their beliefs. How do you explain Jesus as Lord to a Muslim? What is the real difference between Christianity and Jehovah's Witness or Mormonism? Questions like that are ones that we as believers really need answers to in order to first of all, know what we believe, and secondly to explain what we believe (and why it is different than other "religions") to others. Make sure to check out the messages whether you're in IMPACT or not (click on the "Messages" tab above). Some other fun things this month - Bonfire and movie night, which we already had :) Sorry, a little late on the calendar this month... But it was fun! And coming up in less than two weeks now - Costume Night!!! It is always a blast! It's great fellowship and such a wonderful example of how followers of Jesus Christ can have tons of fun as family members - so please come join us! Dress up! :) May we all set our minds on things above. To God be the glory!

Hello, everyone! September is up and running, and in no time autumn will be here... But before that new season gets under way, let's have some end of summer fun! :)

How does a beach trip sound?! And what about a barn dance?! Both are coming up: on Friday the 17th and Friday the 24th, respectively. On the 17th, we'll make our way to Avila (or Port San Luis) late afternoon and enjoy some food, a bonfire, and fun! So please make sure to set aside the evening if you can :) We'll have a barn dance at 8pm on the 24th - and for that event, absolutely everyone is invited, you don't have to be in IMPACT! Please come out and join us - you don't have to know how to dance, we'll teach you! :) May your week be full of joy in our Maker!

Swim Party on Saturday!

Good evening my fellow Christ-followers! :) This Saturday is the Swim Party at Creekside Farms (the Lemm's place) - any and all Jr. High and High School kids along with their families are invited! Please come and have some fun with us! Starting at 4pm we will be swimming and playing volleyball and having a blast! We're also having a potluck - so families please bring a dish! We will provide drinks and desserts (but if you want to bring a dessert you can) :)

Starting at 7 we will be enjoying some worship time and a short message by Dr. Lemm. This is a great opportunity to not only have some fun, but also to fellowship with some of the young adults in IMPACT, and maybe get to know some kids and families you don't know yet! Come minister with us! Keep Christ first!

Good afternoon, my dear friends! August is here! This Thursday is the height of the Perseid meteor shower, and we will be taking full advantage of that with an evening under the stars... Next week we'll be planning on doing some IMPACT painting - so make sure you bring those shirts and paints ;) The biggest thing to be aware of is the Swim Party on Saturday the 28th. Make sure to set aside the afternoon/evening if you can because you won't want to miss it! :) The tentative plan is that IMPACT will be hosting some youth! Hello everyone! Wow - so much has been going on in the last three months with school finals, weddings, and a Mexico missions trip! All have gone wonderfully with God at the helm. Hello, everyone! Just wanted to share the March calendar with you :)

With the mission trip to Mexico coming up next month, we wanted to leave the calendar for March pretty open. We will be heading to Hume Lake Christian Camps next weekend for Unite - the winter camp for college/young adult. Details for the trip will be discussed this Thursday night. If you would like to see what last year's Hume trip looked like, please check out the post or the video!

We are also starting a new study soon with Nate sharing God's Biblical emphasis on fellowship. Following that study we will be going through the topic of "respectable sins" based on the book. Remember to stay up to date on Hume, the Mexico trip (and BBQ-in-a-bag), and with IMPACT in general! Keep living for Him!

Our Upcoming Mission to Mexico

In just a few weeks an IMPACT team will be heading down to Mexico to build a house in the name of Christ! It's hard to believe that we were down there almost a year ago...

We will be having a BBQ-in-a-Bag Fundraiser on Sunday, March 21st, so if God puts it on your heart, please consider buying a ticket at church! The funds will help with food, gas, and other necessities for the team. We will be leaving on Saturday, April 3rd, and returning to Paso Robles on Friday, April 9th. More than anything, we thank you for your encouragement and ask for your prayers - that God would prepare the hearts of those we are ministering to in Mexico, and that above all else, He would be glorified.

Next Saturday, February 13th is our annual Valentine's Dinner! It's February! I just love this month :) Now don't be deceived - the calendar may look a little sparse, but we are going to be very busy ;) ... "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!" What a wonderful time of the year it is - full of evergreens, candy canes, gift-giving, and the celebration of the greatest gift of all time: Jesus the Christ! As usual, December is a month of "fullness." No boredom going on here! Ha ha! We've got some great things coming up in the next few weeks. Fall has arrived! And hopefully the cooler weather will stay! Just wanted to get the calendar out to all of you before the first week is over :) The only big thing we have going on this month is our annual Costume Night! And here we go again! Summer's reaching it's end... Now as we get back into routines of school and church activities, may we keep Him at the top of our lists :) This month we are busy as usual - but hopefully it's the type of busyness that puts others first and encourages the fellowship of family as brothers and sisters in Christ. There are a couple of barn dances going on (Of course everyone is invited, not just IMPACT)! Our End of Summer Bash on the 19th is going to be great! Don't miss it :) And for the first time ever, we're having an 80's Night! Ha ha! Come dressed up in your best 80's attire - or your mom or dad's :) We may have some fun games that night too. And this Sunday will be an impromptu Movie Night since we have some people coming home from college for Labor Day weekend. Keep serving Him mightily my friends!

August - the Height of Summer Fun!

Good HOT afternoon! July is coming to a close... and in no time school will begin again, daily and weekly church routines will commence, and the heat may finally dissipate. But, first comes August! We will be doing several fun things this next month that I really hope everyone is able to be a part of! August the 13th, a regular IMPACT Thursday, will be a Stargazing night! Anyone and everyone is invited (you don't have to be a part of IMPACT). We would greatly encourage all to come - youth and families too! On that Saturday, August 15th, we will be teaming up with the high school youth on a Lake Trip! We'll take some boats, parents, families, and friends on the lake and be wet shining lights :) There is so much going on this month.... On Thursday, August 20th, the high school youth are invited to come join IMPACT for a "normal" IMPACT night - we would love to have every high schooler there for some awesome fellowship, great teaching, and prayer. Also coming up near the end of the month is a Barn Dance (again everyone of all ages please come, not just young adults)! And then a second hike in the Pinnacles! Busy month, I know. But we would love to have some real connections as brothers and sisters in the Lord - come join us in reaching up to Him and out to each other.

So, as you may have noticed, I'm posting the July calendar about 3 weeks late. Ha ha! Well, I'll have August up on here soon... We may be going to the Drive-in on Friday the 31st, depending on the show(s), and Natalie Grant will be singing at the Fair (free concert - pay fair admission) on Sunday the 26th, which will be awesome! That's pretty much the rest of this month. August, however, is going to be amazing! There is so much going on - lots of stuff being planned, so stay tuned :)

Mexico 2009 Video

It's hard to believe that we returned from Mexico less than one month ago! Well, on Sunday the 3rd at PRBC we played a short video documenting our trip. Here it is! What a beautiful Spring day our Creator has made! :)

Sorry this calendar is so late in coming... we had some last minute changes. The Pinnacles trip that we all have been looking forward to had been put off until the 23rd, the morning after the Barn Dance! So, guess what? - That means ya'll should come dance the night away then camp out in the Lemm house and come hiking in the Pinnacles with us! It would be so much fun! Seriously, bring a sleeping bag and overnight things and there will be plenty of room for anyone who wants to stay. We also have the Mexico Presentation coming up - soon after church on Sunday May 31st at PRBC!

There are lots of things coming up for everyone with the end of school approaching, weddings to attend, and lives to live in glory to Him! Keep up to date on things we may be planning...

Serving Christ in Mexico!

Yes, we made it home - very safely, I might add :) On Saturday, April 11th, 17 of us (3 high schoolers, 11 young adults, and 3 "young-at-heart" adults) headed down to Mexico to build a house in the name of Jesus Christ...

Gabriel, Guadelupe and infant Anjé were our chosen family. Gabriel and Guadelupe are a young, poor couple living off of about $80 a week (when work is available). Gabriel works full time as a laborer and Guadelupe stays home with Anjé for the time being. Our camp was located less than 10 minutes away from the work site, with luxurious pit toilets and open-air bucket showers :) God provided so much for us! We had a wonderful, level site that was easily accessable, all of our building materials were in great shape, and we had a hard-working team. The first day consisted of pouring the foundation and framing the walls. The second day we raised the walls, prepared them for stucco, and completed the roof. On the third and fourth days we put stucco on our house as well as another house that had been sitting unfinished for a year. Throughout building, Guadelupe and Anjé helped and played and watched. We were able to spend a lot of time with both mother and son as we worked. The trip was really wonderful! Not only did God provide and lead everything so beautifully, He used us to be examples of our Lord and Savior to the world outside of our own backyard!

There are so many more details of our trip that we plan on sharing later, along with a short video, which I will post as soon as it's completed :) Thank you all so much for your prayers and support for your missionaries to Mexico - God used us and you! Please keep praying for the young family we built a house for: saving faith if it's not there already, and strength in Christ. May He be lifted up!

To make it easier to find specific messages, the date is followed by a brief title along with the passage that we discussed. I hope this is helpful! Please feel free to listen to and/or download messages whether you attend IMPACT or not. It's easy to do directly from the blog and it's a great way to keep thinking on His Word - maybe during some down time at work or school, or while you're in the car. And we would love to have more people (regardless of age) listening to what we're learning here on Thursday nights. So anyone who is interested, please check out some of the messages we have recorded. If you have any questions, let me know. Hey all! So here we have the April calendar :)

As you can see, we haven't planned too many events this month - mostly because some of us will be ministering and building a house in Mexico for a needy family! It's taking a lot of time and effort so that's pretty much all that we're "officially" doing in April. However, coming up next month we will be going to the Pinnacles (right now the plan is May 2nd), and possibly doing some other fun activities like going hiking or shooting, bonfire, barn dance, and some things like that! :) Please note that we will still be having IMPACT during the Mexico week, and please come fellowship with us! Just wanted to let you all know that this Thursday, March 26th, we will NOT be having IMPACT. The Lemm's may be out of town, so we figured it would be a good week to have a break (we don't "take a break" very often by the way for those of you who may not come regularly). We shall be meeting again the week after that! I'm so looking forward to seeing you all again! :) Keep smilin'!

Return from Hume Lake!

Hello family! :) Well, we made it back from Hume Lake and had a wonderful time! God never ceases in His work... Although we had a very large group this year (many didn't even know each other), God pulled us together. He convicted, He encouraged, He humbled, and He strengthened.

This was the first year of "JWI: Unite." Joshua Wilderness Institute is a 9-month program at Hume Lake designed for college-age students. It cultivates discernment, focus, passion, and discipline through the Word of God. "Unite" was a weekend retreat designed to bring together college-aged young adults, including alumni of Joshua Wilderness Institute and former employees at Hume Lake, for a few days of fellowship, teaching, worship, and reuniting. We had four insightful speakers along with great worship. The theme of the weekend was following Christ completely: God doesn't want to be part of our life, He wants to be our life. Who do I say Jesus is, and do I live like I believe what I say? Have I lost focus, forgetting who Messiah truly is? God is watching, so why do I sometimes act like He's not?...

Saturday afternoon we met as a group for over an hour, maybe even two hours. I'm honestly not sure because I think most of us didn't keep track of the time. We were encouraged to share why we came this weekend, something that most of us probably didn't even have figured out completely. For some it was for the fellowship, for some the teaching, for some creating unity, for a few it was to get back on track with our Father. We read 1 Thessalonians 5:1-19 ~ that we are to be of the day, comforting and edifying one another, warning the unruly, being at peace with one another, rejoicing always, praying without ceasing, giving thanks in everything, not quenching the Spirit! And in that afternoon, we prayed. Several poured out their hearts, some embraced, and many tears fell. We needed to remember why we were here, not just at Hume, but also why we were here on earth, why we were here in school or work, why we were here in IMPACT. We needed to rememeber what truly matters.

That evening after the message, several of us just couldn't leave. We stayed in the chapel and cried out to God. And with just a few lifting up broken hearts to Him, in the back of the room, half a dozen stayed, praying and being near those few. Looking back on that weekend, most probably wouldn't be overwhemed by God's movement because so often we as people tend to be emotionally affected by large numbers. If everyone was broken, all were moved to tears, and every heart humbled in His glory, it would have been absolutely incredible. But several were broken, a couple moved to tears, and a few hearts were mightily humbled in His glory. And it was still absolutely incredible. Because one soul is one part of the whole body, and one heart matters to Him. I thank God for reminding me of that this last weekend. Seeing Him work in just one member of my spiritual family is worth every ounce of effort, funds, and time. God is moving. He is working. And it is more than a blessing to witness it, let alone be a part of it. Praise Him!

Thank you Lord! May You be everything in our hearts. May You be our lives, not simply a part of our lives. May we live every moment like we truly believe in You. Be praised, precious Jesus!

And that means Hume Lake for the young adults! :) This Friday we will be heading up the mountain for a weekend of learning, worship, fellowship, and strengthening. We have a very large group this year (over 20)! Please pray for unity and safety and that the Lord really grabs a hold of hearts...

Other than our Hume trip, nothing substantial is on the calendar for the month of March, except for normal IMPACT on Thursday nights - which are amazing, by the way :) If you're of college age or older (single or married) please feel free to come sometime and check out those evenings, get to know us a little. We would love it! May God's Truth reign in your hearts my dear friends.

Valentine's Dinner Was Wonderful!

Well, Saturday was our "first annual" (God-willing) Valentine's Dinner... and it was so much fun! I just really wanted to thank everyone who came and all those who helped out behind the scenes. It was truly a blessing to serve and minister and have some singing and dancing (and juggling) all for the Lord! Ha ha! God is so good. Pray for us as we desire to teach and share the truth of the Word of God in IMPACT, among our fellow believers at PRBC, and out in the world. May your day be blessed abundantly by Him.

It's almost February!!! :)
The month most commonly remembered for love. Decorations plastered with hearts seem to appear everywhere... including our own calendar :) It always reminds me of our hearts and God's promise to those who are His...

"'Then I will give them one heart, and I will put a new spirit within them, and take the stony heart out of their flesh, and give them a heart of flesh, that they may walk in My statutes and keep My judgments and do them; and they shall be My people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose hearts follow the desire for their detestable things and their abominations, I will recompense their deeds on their own heads,' says the Lord God." Ezekiel 11:19-21

True Satisfaction

Who am I living for? That's a question that has only two possible answers.

All too often I deceive myself into thinking that I am always living for Him. Yet moment by moment my mind makes a choice - follow my new heart or give in to my nature. Too many moments are spent trying to satisfy myself and not glorify my Creator. How do I so easily forget that true satisfaction comes from the only One who can really give it?

Blessed be our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who covers our filthiness with His righteousness! We have done absolutely nothing to deserve that grace. What incredible love.

Remain in Him, my dear friends. May your satisfaction be true.

The Formal Dinner on Friday night was so much fun! Thank you all for coming and being apart of it. Make sure to give a huge thank you to Gordon and Teri (IMPACT Dad and Mom) for all their hard work and providing all the food. They always take such good care of us!

Jesus is the reason for the season! :) There are several events going on this month - the Vine Street Showcase being one of them (Saturday, the 13th). Grab some warm jackets and a few friends, and we'll go skipping down Vine Street together - afterwards we might just have some hot chocolate and a movie or something. The Formal Dinner Night is also coming up (Friday, the 19th). We get all dressed up and have a wonderful sit-down dinner and a gift exchange. It really is a lot of fun... and some of you who may be home for Christmas break should come!

The verse on the calendar this month is a wonderful reminder of the reality of Christ's birth and the reason for it. Here it is in it's entirety:

"Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross." Philippians 2:5-8

Keep Him as your focus this month, my dear brethren. May He be praised in every breath He gives to you.

Trips and Fundraisers!

Good Sunday afternoon to all of you! Our Lord Jesus Christ is so wonderful, so greatly to be praised! As most of you know, we have several big trips planned - one to Hume Lake Christian Camps (March 13-15) and one to Mexico (building and being light, April 11-17). God is going to get us there :)

One way to help is through some fundraisers - where the body of Christ can be made aware of our endeavours and God can provide through them... Starting today at PRBC, there is a little booth of pumpkins for Thanksgiving decorations. All the donations from these will go to help us pay for camp. More important than any amount of money is that we all help one another as the body of Christ and we be light to the world. That is our desire at IMPACT. Please pray for us, for these trips, for IMPACT in general that we grow more everyday in our love and obedience to Him. Thanks!

My dear friends! Autumn is finally here, and oh, how I love it! :) The leaves are falling and crunching underfoot, and the air is crisp and clean. So wonderful! So, now would probably be a good time to post the October calendar...
